Hughes is named after the one and only William Morris 'Billy' Hughes. Australia's 7th Prime Minister. Billy was clearly a shit stirrer so we probably would have got along. He changed parties five times, was impressively expelled from three of them and represented four different electorates in two states. I like that apparently at the 50th jubilee dinner of the Commonwealth parliament, the speaker referred to him as the man who sat in every Parliament since Federation and every party too. Apparently Arthur Fadden interjected 'not the country party!' and Hughes replied 'I had to draw the line somewhere'.
The streets are named after Billy's contemporaries and have a World War I theme.
Hughes is the perfect place to have a lovely autumn stroll. Great views and gorgeous parks...
And fabulous autumn colours everywhere...
I was there on party at the shops day.. and it was still a very quiet little place :)
Dunno what gender you art;
ReplyDeletenevertheless, let's just assume this:
High, girl!
Wouldn’t ya love an endless eternity of aplomBombs
falling on thy indelible, magnificent, vigilant cranium?
An XtraXcitinXpose with no
zooillogical-expiration-date,
with an IQ much higher than K2,
and an extraordinarily, sawcy, rowdy victory??
Here’s what the prolific GODy sed:
“Faith, hope, and love,
the greatest of these is love -
jumpy into faith...
and you'll see with love”
Doesn’t matter if you don’t believe
(what I write);
God believes in you.
