Suburb #94 Flynn

In order to avoid a total anxiety meltdown, I went exploring one of the biggest suburbs I had left about a fortnight ago - and its been so crazy since then I completely forgot to write up my post! So here goes...

Flynn a suburb in the mighty Belco, is named after Minister John Flynn who founded what was to become the Royal Flying Doctor Service. His face appears on one side of the $20 note.

Streets in Flynn are named after workers from the Flying Doctor Service.

I think Flynn is certainly one of the prettiest Belconnen suburbs that I  have wandered around since Giralang which seems a lifetime ago now. Alas there are no local shops, but I felt a real sense of calm here amongst the interestingly designed houses, beautiful gum tress and flowering gardens.

I started my adventure at the southern end of the suburb, where Ginnindera Creek cuts its way across, largely hidden by grasslands. Its not a big area but really quite lovely, particularly amongst the butterflies :)

Walking north through the suburb, there were gorgeous flowers everywhere...

Some of the houses looked so peaceful amongst the gums...almost made me want to give up inner city living...almost...

The views from the top of the suburb were also quite impressive....

And even from the top of Fort Flynn :p

It wouldn't be a Canberra suburb without some interesting design features though...

But overall, a very pleasant place to explore. I hope Santa did drop by :)
